Autre question : en repartant avec une nouvelle installation, on perd tous les logiciels installés précédemment sauf leurs configurations qui sont toujours sur le /home. Y a-t-il néanmoins un moyen de les récupérer ?

Il y a l'outil de sauvegarde MintBackup pour ça

Mais ça concerne uniquement les logiciels installés à partir du gestionnaire de logiciel, et à vérifier pour les flatpak.

Quelques jours plus tard ...
Je me décide enfin : le pc démarre sur une clé bootable contenant l'iso de Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon et le but est de procéder à une nouvelle installation sur le SSD de120 Go. Pour l'étape de partitionnement je choisis "Autre chose" et débouche sur l'écran suivant (désolé pour la qualité de l'image) :



Et là, je dois avouer : je suis un peu perdu. C'est bien sur /dev/sdb que je veux installer LM avec un /home séparé. Mais pratiquement je dois faire quoi ? Y aurait-il une bonne âme pour m'expliquer en détails la procédure à suivre ?

Pour sdb2 agrandis ta partition pour y monter le système / à 25Go et sur sdb3 tu montes ton /home avec le reste de la taille de ton disque dur ... et tout ça en ext4 (pas en ext2)

bonjour,
je viens de faire une évolution vers 20.2 chez une amie , je lui avait demandé de sauvegarder ses fichier sur un DD extern avant, j'ai sauvegardé .mozila et .thunderbird avant de lancer la mise à niveau et tout c'est bien passé. Même pas eu besoin de remettre les .mozila et .thunderbird.

ma femme vient de le faire sur sa machine et RAS, tout roule.

À partir de LM 19.3, la migration vers LM 20 n'est pas proposée par le gestionnaire de mises à jour.

Que signifie "downgrade" dans le message d'erreur ? Faut-il supprimer ou restaurer les paquets étrangers ?
