ce fichier ou sa copie «~/.local/share/applications/defaults.list» définit ligne par ligne l'application «nomLogiciel.desktop»
(les .desktop sont des lanceurs d'applications) qui sera lancé en fonction du type de contenu et du format des fichiers.
Donc tu repères un format (s'il n'existe pas il faut l'ajouter) et tu renseignes le logiciel qui sera lancé.
La liste des lanceurs (.desktop) de logiciels, tu les retrouves dans les dossiers «/usr/share/applications» et «/home/Ton_Nom/.local/share/applications/», pour en avoir la liste :

PS : pendant la rédaction de tes messages, ne pas confondre les balises "Quote" réservées aux citations avec les balises "Code".
Il faut utiliser ces balises pour tout ce qui concerne le terminal
(commandes, retours de commandes …) ou le contenu de fichier, cela améliore grandement la lisibilité.
