Installation sur Mac Pro 2009 pas de boot ?

Bonjour à tous (et à toutes). Heureux possesseur d'un Mac Pro de 2009 (4.1) upgradé en 5.1, je me suis mis en tête d'installer Linux Mint pour redonner un second souffle à mon ordinateur.
Il faut savoir que j'ai enlevé le disque dur de Mac OS pour installer linux mint sur un SSD (ça sera le seul OS).
j'ai créé ma clefs USB sans soucis. Au démarrage du Mac Pro j'appuis sur la touche "alt" pour selectionner ma clef usb, elle boot, par contre je ne peux que démarrer ma live en séléctionnant "compatibility mode" (le reste ne démarre pas).

Une fois installé sur mon SSD, lorsque je reboot j'ai juste un écran noir avec : "_" et rien.....

j'ai tenté un boot repair sans succès. Voici le rapport :

J'ai l'impression que j'ai un probleme avec mon MBR ou l'EFI ?

Par avance merci beaucoup pour votre aide, vraiment, car là je sèche. J'ai déjà installé Linux Mint sur d'autres ordinateurs (PC) et je n'ai jamais eu de soucis.

Bon après plusieurs essais d'installations infructueuses, mint refuse de booter sur mon Ssd. je vais donc rester sur Mac os x....
dommage mint était très rapide sur usb, alors sur un ssd j'imagine le gain de vitesse.

et avec 19.3 ? (elle est supportée jusqu'en avril 2023, t'as le temps et ça vaut peut-être le coup d'essayer ;) )

As-tu essayé de l'installer via la méthode décrite par Clem : viewtopic.php?f=20&t=12072&p=139481#p139481 (vieille méthode mais qui doit toujours marcher). ;)

J'ai fait l'expérience sur un Imac 7 de 2008 avec Linuxmint 20, aucun problème, tu es sur de ta clé USB, moi il me donne le choix EFI boot et il boote sans problème.

Bonjour et merci pour vos réponses.

l'iso sur ma clefs USB semble ok (j'ai fait tester dans le menu grub il n'a pas trouvé d'erreur).
est ce parceque j'ai enlever le HD Mac OS pour ne laisser que mon SSD où je souhaitais installer Mint ?!

je vais essayer comme recommandé par Thyam, la version 19.3.

Le tuto décrit par Clem concerne les MacBOOK pro, je ne sais pas si cela fonctionne avec un Mac Pro (tour alu), mais ça ne coute rien d'essayer, merci pour le lien arghlub.

J'ai déjà réussis à installer des distributions sur des Imac, sans soucis, mais elles cohabitaient avec Mac OS X en dual boot.

Perso, avant c'était une distribution BSD que j'avais tenté d'installé mais j'ai déjà installé 2/3 distributions linux sans problème. Peut-être essayer avec un autre logiciel comme etcher.

J'ai tenté Linux Mint 19.3... le grub de la clef usb se lance mais rien ne se passelorsque je lance mint par la suite.... écran noir puis "no signal" sur l'écran.

Après une réinstall de linux mint 20, j'ai refais un "sudo efibootmgr -v"
