Problème pilote Nvidia GTX 560i
Bonjour à tous,
Après avoir installé Linux Mint, j'ai été invité à mettre à jour les pilotes de ma carte graphique Nvidia GTX 560i. Malheureusement, l'installation de ces pilotes a échoué. Je suis actuellement contraint d'utiliser les pilotes open-source proposés par l'OS, ce qui fonctionne, mais j'aimerais bénéficier des performances optimales de ma carte graphique.
Est-ce que quelqu'un ici utilise également une Nvidia GTX 560i et pourrait partager son expérience ou une solution pour mettre à jour les pilotes ?

J'ai suivi les instructions présents dans ce lien https://blog.malandra.be/nvidia-drivers ... inux-mint/ pour installer le pilote nvidia 340 compatible avc ma carte graphique mais ça bloque à cette étape sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers. Impossible d'installer ppa ? J'ai alors télécharger l'executable run et l'ai exécuter mais voici le message d'erreur : "ERROR: You appear to be running an X server; please exit X before

Tu as même problème que Gazule ici : viewtopic.php?p=236036#p236036
(pour une version différente du pilote mais pb identique)
Tous les deux avez la solution qui est d'arrêter le serveur X. tchatgpt a même été plus loin en te donnant carrément la commande:
Pour faire rapide et simple: Vous ouvrez une console TTY et vous vous y connectez.
Puis vous arrêtez le serveur X par la commande de GPT
Enfin vous lancez votre .run respectif (le 340 pour toi et le 304 pour Gazule)
L'un comme l'autre, donnez dans vos sujets respectifs, les retours de vos commandes. Si mon emplois du temps vacancier le permet j'essayerai, d'y répondre.
Vous pouvez aussi échanger vos expériences respectives, à deux vous y arriverez certainement

Mon problème découle du fait que je n'arrive pas à installer ce pilotes qui est aussi valables (normalement) et qui est là par défaut depuis que je suis passé sur Mint.

Bon ! J'ai essayé de réinstaller le pilote NVIDIA 390 comme recommandé par le système. Cela n'a pas marché et donc j'ai réinstallé la carte graphique x.org, également proposé par défaut. Et là, on redémarrage il n'a plus reconnu mon autre écran hdmi. J'ai donc restaurer le système pour récupérer mon second écran. Ce que je veux dire par là c'est que malgré le fait que mon système m'invite à charger le pilote NVIDIA 390, il est déjà installé.
Est ce possible ?

Effectivement si même l'installation automatique du 390 ne fonctionne pas, tu as un problème différent.
Peux-tu nous en dire plus ? Par exemple les messages d'erreur quand tu essaies d'installer le 390, il doit bien t'informer de quelque chose dans une fenêtre.
Est-ce qu'il te dit la même chose que quand tu tentes l'installation du 340 en manuel ?
A ce sujet, j'ai regardé sur le site Nvidia, c'est bien le 390 qu'il faut pour cette GTX 550 TI : https://www.nvidia.com/fr-fr/geforce/drivers/ .Je m'étonnais aussi de l'utilisation d'un 340 alors que cette carte n'est pas si ancienne que ça.
Si ça ne passe pas par le gestionnaire de pilote de Linux Mint, ça ne passera pas non plus manuellement en le téléchargeant.
Laisse tomber le 340.
Par contre, sur tes photos, on voit bien que le serveur X est toujours en fonction (on voit l'environnement graphique derrière ta console). Donc la commande ne l'a pas stoppé.
Il faudrait trouver pourquoi l'installation automatique du 390 ne fonctionne pas. Voir les logs ce qu'ils en disent dans /var/log/Xorg.0.log ou voir s'il y a un dossier nividia dans /var/log. Cela en plus de ce que l'installateur de pilotes pourrait te dire bien sûr.

Effectivement sur les photos on voit à l'arrière plan un ordinateur en windows sur lequel j'accéde à mon ordinateur Mint via Putty en ssh. Mais le serveur X et bel et bien fermé. C'est d'ailleurs la raison de ce choix. Je n'ai plus d'accès à la machine quand le serveur X est fermé. D'ailleurs les deux print screen que j'ai envoyé sont l'affichage de ce terminal lancer via Putty.
Je crois avoir compris mon problème mais j'ai besoin que quelqu'un le valide. Je m'explique ; Lorsque j'ai installé mon OS Mint pour la première fois sur ce vieil ordinateur qui tournait sous Windows 10, il y a un pilote de carte graphique par défaut qui a été pris en compte. Ce qui m'a permit de profiter de ma carte graphique malgré le message qui m'invitait à installer le pilote nvidia-driver-390.
Mais voilà, depuis la dernière mise à jour qui comprend "linux-5.15.0~116.126" et "Noyau Linux 6.5.0.44.44~22.04.1", je perd cette compatibilité de ma carte graphique et je n'ai plus accès à mon écran en hdmi (relier à la carte graphique).
Dans un premier temps, j'ai besoin de comprendre pourquoi cette nouvelle mise à jour m'empêche de profiter de cette compatibilité de base de ma carte graphique ?
Pour revenir au pilote, je crois qu'il n'est pas possible pour moi d'installer ce pilote parce que justement Linux Mint viens de passer à "Noyau Linux 6.5.0.44.44~22.04.1" et que j'ai besoin de la version 22.04.2 et que ça n'existe pas encore. Le 22.04.1 représente la version Oubuntu sur lequel cette Os Mint est construit et que le pilote nvidia qui m'est proposé par défaut par ma machine est version 390.157~Oubuntu 0.22.04.2 ?
Sinon voilà le message d'erreur que j'ai quand j'essaye d'installer le pilote : Error while installing package: le sous-processus paquet nvidia-dkms-390 script post-installation installé a renvoyé un état de sortie d'erreur 10
