Étant donné que tout fonctionne maintenant, est-il utile d'installer : systemd-timesyncd ?

Sur ta machine, telle qu'elle est configurée actuellement, l'heure de la RTC n'est pas synchronisée avec l'heure d'un serveur de temps.

Tant qu'à faire, étant donné qu'il ne sont plus utilisés par le système,
autant libérer l'espace disque qu'ils occupent en lançant la ligne de commandes proposée par apt :

Mais, au fait, pourquoi cette heure a-t-elle commencé à être défaillante alors tout se passait bien avant, le remplacement de la batterie CMOS en janvier dernier mis à part bien entendu ?

Lors de la mise à jour de ton système vers Mint 21.3, il a dû se passer la même chose que ce qui était arrivé à caltrop4 et orderlater (voir dans ce message)
Le paquetage ntp a été installé par la mise à jour et l'installation de ce paquetage a désactivé le service systemd-timesyncd

En installant le paquetage systemd-timesyncd ce service a été activé.

EDIT: D'ailleurs, même si ce n'est pas indispensable, autant désinstaller le paquetage ntp
en lançant la ligne de commande suivante :

Oui bien sûr, la MAJ vers 21.3, mais elle eut lieu en janvier dernier chez moi et, pendant 5 mois, je n'eus pas de problème relatif à l'heure

Impec : la désinstallation du paquetage ntp et de ses fichiers de configuration s'est passée sans problème.

Certaines lignes de commandes pourraient servir pour voir ce qu'il s'est passé, mais comme il y a beaucoup de choses qui pourraient provoquer un décalage horaire, il faudra d'abord chercher ce qui a provoqué cette panne pour savoir quelles commandes utiliser.

Mais logiquement, l'installation de ntp en remplacement de systemd-timesyncd sans que l'utilisateur ne l'ait demandé était une erreur qui a été provoquée par la mise à jour et qui ne devrait plus se produire.

Il y a un cas bien connu qui provoque aussi un décalage horaire, c'est quand la machine est en multiboot avec Windows et que Windows remet à l'heure locale la RTC (qui devrait rester à l'heure UTC).
Du coup, quand on redémarre ensuite sur linux, il y a un décalage horaire, le temps que le serveur de temps remette la RTC à l'heure UTC.
Ce problème peut facilement être réglé en modifiant ou en créant une clef dans la base de registre du système Windows.

Je pourrais donc en déduire que ce fameux ntp n'a toutefois pas posé de problème pendant quelques mois, jusqu'à ce que ça commence avec une heure inexacte il y a quelques semaines
