Merci pour ton aide... j'ai toutefois pu résoudre ce blocage, alors voici ma procédure :
Dans la fenêtre ci-dessus, je pense avoir initialement et erronément coché «Universal Serial Bus (USB) ; je refis l'installation cette fois en cochant «Wireless/802.11»
La fenêtre suivante me demanda de me connecter provisoirement en USB pour configurer le WIFI
La procédure fut suivie jusqu'à ce que j'aboutisse à la fenêtre insérée dans mon premier post, là où il est indiqué :

hp-setup + adresse IP
A ce moment-là, je compris qu'il fallût ouvrir le Terminal et taper la commande ci-dessus lors me mon premier essai manqué, ce que je fis cette fois ; j'obtins tout le charabia suivant :

J'obtins toutes ces lignes, sauf la dernière où il est indiqué «Done», mais après l'avant-dernière ligne [Found device: hp:/net/Deskjet_2540_series?ip=192.**********], une fenêtre apparut :
Je cliquai sur «Add Printer» et c'est ensuite que «Done» fut visible dans le Terminal et que la procédure fut complétée
A un moment donné, je fus mis dans la confusion car dans un autre post je lus qu'il fallait peut-être cocher «Network/Ethernet/Wireless network», mais ce ne fut pas le cas chez moi puisque maintenant la connexion est réussie en WIFI entre le PC et le périphérique... sans avoir coché l'option précitée
